
The principal objectives of the Association shall be to:-
- Facilitate the protection of members' forests (commercial and indigenous), sugar cane fields and agricultural crops as well as natural flora and fauna in the Association's area of operation.
- Establish a forum of communication between its members with regard to the prevention, protection against and combating of fires throughout its area.
- Provide an infrastructure for the deployment and co-ordination of fire fighting and reconnaissance aircraft within its area.
- Provide the necessary research into techniques of preventing wild fires and streamlining existing procedures.
- Promote a public awareness of fire danger and aerial fire fighting operations.
- Gather weather data from available sources and calculate and disseminate Fire Danger Ratings and forecasts during the fire season.
- Identify training needs and co-ordinate training sessions where so required.
- Do whatever else may be necessary or appropriate to assist in the performance of the above objects in as cost effective a manner for the benefit of its members.
